Before you go
Tell us your flight or travel date. We book collection a day or two before, clear your room, blanket-wrap the furniture and load it straight into the pod — with a written inventory of what went in.

While you’re away
The sealed pod sits in our secure Sydney warehouse — indoors, CCTV, restricted access, climate-protected. It stays closed the whole time. You’re billed by the calendar month, first month 25% off.

Message us two business days out and we redeliver to your new or same address — the crew unloads, unwraps and sets the heavy pieces back where you want them.

One tip
Book before exams, not after.
The busiest week for student storage is the last week of semester, when everyone’s lease ends and everyone’s flying out at once. Lock your collection date in as soon as you have your flight or travel plans — two to three weeks out is comfortable. Leave it to the last day and you’re competing with every other student on the same block for the same crew.

How much does student storage cost in Sydney?
A 10 cubic metre storage pod is $199/month + GST — about a studio or one-bedroom’s worth of furniture and 20–30 boxes. On a two-month minimum booking, your first month is 25% off, so month one is $149.25 + GST and month two onward is $199/month + GST. Collection and redelivery are billed separately at the normal crew rate (from $150/hr + GST, 3-hour minimum) plus a distance-based call-out fee. Every figure is on the quote before you book.
How does the semester-break storage work?
Three steps. Before you fly out, our crew collects your things from your address and loads them straight into a sealed pod — no trip to a storage facility. The pod goes to our secure indoor warehouse and stays closed the whole time you’re away. When you’re back in Sydney, give us two business days’ notice and we redeliver to your new (or same) address.
What is the 25%-off first-month offer?
Book a minimum of two months’ storage and the first month is 25% off. That takes month one from $199 down to $149.25 + GST, with each following month at $199/month + GST. It’s designed for a summer or mid-year break, where you’re typically away two to four months.
I’m an international student flying home — can you collect before my flight?
Yes. Tell us your flight date and we book the collection a day or two before, so your room is cleared and your things are in the pod before you leave. Everything stays sealed and insured in our Sydney warehouse until you’re back and ready for redelivery.
What fits in one pod, and what if I have less?
A 10m³ pod holds roughly a studio or one-bedroom — a bed, desk, drawers, a small lounge and 20–30 boxes. Most students storing a single room fit comfortably in one pod. If you’re only storing a few boxes and some furniture, a pod may be more space than you need — tell us what you’ve got and we’ll be honest about whether a pod or a small self-storage unit is the better value.
Do I have to pack and move it myself?
No. The crew loads everything at your address and unloads it at redelivery — you don’t hire a ute or carry boxes down a corridor. If you want a hand boxing up before you fly, packing is available from $60/hr per packer with proper cartons.
Can I get something out of storage while I’m away?
With 48 hours’ notice we can bring your pod down and retrieve an item, then re-seal it. For a break where you’re overseas the whole time that rarely comes up, but it’s there if a housemate needs something posted on.
Are my belongings insured while in storage?
Public liability and goods-in-transit insurance apply while we’re collecting and redelivering, and Hartmann Removals carries $20 million public liability cover. For contents cover while items sit in the warehouse over a long break, ask on the quote call and we’ll tell you exactly what’s covered and when a separate policy makes sense.
